WHAT A SCAN SHOWS
Missing or settled insulation
Gaps in attic and wall insulation show as warm patches from the outside.
Air leaks
Around windows, doors, sill plates, and where an addition meets the original structure.
Moisture in the roof
Wet insulation holds heat differently than dry, so trapped water shows up before it shows through your ceiling.
Heat you're paying for
Every warm spot on the image is oil or propane leaving the building.
WHAT IT COSTS.

WHAT THIS IS, AND ISN'T.
Thermal scans are flown by a certified sUAS Thermographer under FAA PART 107, using a radiometeric thermal sensor. That means the images are measured temperature data, not a false-colour picture.
This is a thermal imaging service, not a certified home energy audit. It shows you where heat is escaping so you know where to spend your money. It does not qualify for Efficiency Maine rebate programs and it does not include blower door testing.
Thermal only works when there's a real termperature difference between the inside of your house and the outside air. You want at least 20 degrees of difference, and the bigger gap the clearer the picture. A January morning at 15 degrees outside and 68 inside shows every leak. A mild October afternoon at 50 degrees outside shows almost nothing. That makes this a winter service. November through March is the window. If you call me in a warm stretch, I'll tell you to wait for a cold snap rather than fly and hand you a scan that doesn't show anyting.
